That’s why, this month, we want to challenge YOU to show love to authors in any way you can.

Just like that, here we are in July, seven months into 2021! We hope your reading goals have progressed just as quickly as this year seems to be going. Thankfully, summer is officially here so whether you’ll be taking a holiday abroad, a local staycation or simple break from the bustle of every day life, a good book is a much needed summer accessory. Why not start with our top picks of books coming out this month?
As the weather warms up (hopefully!) and things return back to some semblance of reality, here are some new books coming out this month that you can enjoy on the go or in the comfort of your home:
May. The month in which we all feel summer should be here already; yet the weather constantly dismisses our feelings and reminds us, that we live in England.
The erratic shifts between heavy rainfall and dazzling sunshine that characterises May can be rather annoying for those looking to spend time outdoors. Never fear! Here are some new releases that will bring that Summer energy right to your doorstep.
‘The Alchemist’ is a book I would recommend all young adults read whilst transitioning to becoming full-fledged “adults”. I would also recommend it to anyone going through a mid, quarter, or any stage, life crisis as it might help with finding your place in the world.
The long Easter bank holidays signal the transition from winter to spring. As we gear up for more outdoor walks, and hopefully more sunshine, check out the new releases for this month which we would love to read while lounging in the garden:
I must start this review off by congratulating Oyinkan Braithwaite for the immense success she has achieved on her debut novel. Reminiscent of Chimamanda’s ‘Americanah’ in how it made me feel, the telling of black stories that go beyond the typical narrative is always so refreshing especially as an African in diaspora and this novel is no exception. I clearly remember sending my sister a screenshot of the cover and knowing that, I HAD TO READ THIS!
As we celebrate international women’s day in this month of March, there really is no shortfall of new releases by female authors. Our gals really came through and showed out!
