We are two sisters in our twenties who love finding a good book and talking about it. We both currently live in the United Kingdom – the land of rain and more rain.
When we say best of both worlds, we mean just that! Double the girls, double the books & double the fun!
Here’s a bit more about us…
Just JJ:
I am the younger sister who will forever be the baby of the family. I love, love, love reading fantasy books because honestly- why settle for reality or a “realistic” storyline when you could have one that is completely outside of the box. As great as reality is, there is something absolutely freeing and delightful about entering a world that is completely different from everyday life.
As I mature as an individual, I am challenging myself to read more non-fiction books to educate and better myself. In the famous words of Roald Dahl “If you are going to get anywhere in life you have to read a lot of books”.
For me, the sign of a good book is if I am unable to willingly put it down. I am addicted to being addicted to books!
Simply Esther:
I am the older sister who is forever young. I read a mix of genres but mainly love Crime / Mystery / Thriller and Contemporary (with elements of romance mixed in). I am also going through a transitional period being in my mid-twenties; so I also read non-fiction to educate myself for different areas of life e.g. finance and personal development.
During a dark period, I looked back on things that made me happy or got me through childhood and one of them was reading. I loved reading because it made me feel safe, and it still does! A book has a shared world created by the author that allows me to go on journeys, adventures and experiences with characters in the book.
I often get books for free from my local libraries, so the true sign of a good book is if it makes it permanently to my shelf and I spend my coin on it.
