Writing:

5/5

With their signature maturity and warmth, Courtney and Renee address readers through a conversational writing style that is easy to understand and follow. Their occasional stories are vividly recounted with descriptions that bring each experience and the individuals in them to life.

you deserve good things and good people in your life.

Content:

5/5

A solid foundation is laid with explanations for key concepts before the book delves into its message of building and maintaining lifelong friendships. Nicely blended into the chapters are various personal stories, action points and reflections which keep the book engaging and interactive. I also enjoyed the dilemmas, after show and blooper segments in the audiobook, as these were when the authors’ personalities shone through.

Narration & Audio:

4/5

Their voices were engaging and well-paced, despite being somewhat inexpressive due to the informative content.

Here are a few more quotes I liked:

  • “Choose to believe that you are worth love, respect and effort.”
  • “We cannot be attracted to vulnerability in others and yet be repulsed by our own.”
  • “failure is normal but it’s not final.”
  • “Burdens are made to be shared and there is no shame in sharing.”
  • “How else will we measure if and how we are truly cared about if we do not set and express our wants?”

To sum up, ‘To My Sisters‘ is an easy yet thorough read on the benefits of sisterhood and how to have them. This complex topic is handled with so much warmth and positivity I was encouraged to take immediate actions to improve my friendships!
