THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE by V.E. Schwab
The beautiful writing style is vivid and gently drew me in. There are numerous quotable lines, and these kept my attention on the unfolding story. Transitions between current and past events are also perfectly timed without disrupting the hypnotic flow of the story.

SHE WHO BECAME THE SUN by Shelley Parker-Chan
The clear writing style is easy to follow and immerse oneself within. Even the numerous time jumps are done smoothly without making the story disjointed. However, there are far too many points of view! These switched rapidly, leaving me confused and needlessly drawing out the story. What’s more, despite this book being classed as fantasy, it actually has very few fantasy elements. The worldbuilding seemed far too ordinary and shallow to keep me intrigued.

THE BLACK KIDS by Christina Hammonds Reed
There is no denying that the writing in this book is choppy and unfocused. Between the numerous tangents and rapid changes from past to current events, I initially found this writing style jarring. However, as the story progressed, I realised that the informal, conversational tone created is actually very fitting for the story.

THE COURT OF MIRACLES by Kester Grant
I have to start this review by celebrating my very first completed audiobook! No one is more shocked than me by how much I loved listening to the narration of this book. I certainly did not expect to be able to focus on the narrated story as my mind tends to wander when I listen to people talk for a long time. Although this was not a huge problem here, I cannot tell how much of this was because of the narration or the story.
