And Then There Were None is my favourite Agatha Christie novel, so I was eager to dive into this book. I’m happy to say I loved it! I thoroughly enjoyed the initial focus on the distinct characters, each with complex/messy backstories, insecurities, and motivations. I also loved the insights into the challenging realities some authors face in publishing, which added extra depth to the story. Even though the mystery kicks in a bit later, it escalates quickly to the surprising reveal of a killer I had mostly overlooked. All this is enhanced by the atmospheric writing style, which has a creative flair and uses multiple points of view to give the story a satisfying scope.

Discussion Questions (Contains spoilers!):
Q: Do you have any similar book recommendations?
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie is the obvious recommendation. It shares a similar premise where a group of strangers are invited to a private island by a rich, unseen host and are killed one by one. Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney is another similar recommendation, where the characters find themselves trapped on an island and cut off from the outside world as someone kills them one by one.
Q: What did you think of the central characters (Kenzo, Jaxon, Cate, Sienna, Malcolm, Millie, Priscilla/Ava, and Rufus/Holden)? Did any of them stand out to you? Were there any you felt sorry for, liked, or found annoying?
Q: Would you find it easy or hard to go 72 hours without any devices?
Q: What are your favourite genres to read, and what stereotypes do you think people tend to associate with readers or writers of those genres?
Q: What did you think about the critique of the literary world? Do you agree or disagree with any of it?
Q: Did you manage to figure out which character was the murderer? If not, who did you suspect and why?
