Why did I wait so long to read this book?! It was such a fun read that I flew through it! The witty banter and humour are top-tier – I genuinely can’t remember the last time a book made me laugh out loud this much. Plus, the romance that unfolds is awkward, charged, and completely endearing. It’s made even stronger by the relatable main characters, who navigate chronic pain, abandonment issues and healing from emotional abuse. I also loved that the final conflict was resolved without being unnecessarily drawn out. The secondary characters only add to the fun with their unique quirks and vibrant personalities.

Honey & Spice by Bolu Babalola and Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey share a similar dynamic between the main characters, which leads to plenty of witty banter, vulnerability, and character growth. I’d also recommend Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry by Joya Goffney for a young adult read with similar character dynamics, humour and emotional growth.
