INTO THE SUNKEN CITY by Dinesh Thiru
Despite being easy to follow and incorporating vivid descriptions that smoothly brought the world and events of this story to life, I did not find the simple writing style particularly engaging. I also struggled with the constant information dumps used to deliver the world-building, though the creative and believable world was impressive.

RUTHLESS VOWS by Rebecca Ross
Like the previous book, beautiful, enchanting prose and rich descriptions bring this sequel to life. However, there is lots of telling and little showing, especially for the world-building and characters. THE BLOOD TRIALS by N. E. Davenport
Despite some information dumps, I was utterly impressed by the detailed world that is established and infused with a creative mix of sci-fi and magic. Besides this, the casual writing style was easy to follow and filled with sufficient details and descriptions to bring the characters and story to life.

There were some cute moments of humour, though, and fewer information dumps in the second half of the story, making the pacing better.

THE CITY OF STARDUST by Georgia Summers
A smooth, picturesque writing style weaves together multiple points of view to create an atmospheric story and unique world. However, I struggled to completely immerse myself in the third-person narrative, as this put the events of the story and characters at a distance.

SWORD CATCHER by Cassandra Clare
A steady stream of descriptions and world-building information create a vivid picture of unfolding events and the elaborate world. However, the abundance of information made the writing style painfully unengaging and dragged the pace of the story down.
