With themes such as race, mental health, addiction, religion, and family, this promises to be a deep read that stays with readers for a long time.

Our thoughts: Started from the bottom, now he’s here! What prize are you willing to pay for success?
Today David Chang is the chef and founder of his own restaurant business. However, his road to success is one filled with many challenges and adversities. In this memoir, he bravely opens up about his struggle with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts during his career. Even if you are not looking to become a chef, this could still be a very inspirational and interesting read.

Our thoughts: You would think that after nearly 30 years, you would know a person… I guess not!
When Annie’s husband, Graham, dies unexpectedly, Annie is lost. Whilst mourning, she discovered that he has been unfaithful. This sends the reader on a journey with her to discover how much she really knows of her husband and if she ever truly knew the man who loved her.

Our thoughts: Did someone say a non-traditional, coming of age story that explores colourism and honour-based culture? Sign us up!
Eight-year-old, Nori is no stranger to being alone. As the illegitimate child of a Japanese aristocrat and her African American lover, she is hidden from the world by her grandparents in their attic. This book explores what happens when the arrival of her legitimate older brother causes her to question her place in the world. What will she discover and what will it cost her?
Title: The Book of Two Ways
Author: Jodi Picoult
Genre: Contemporary, Romance
Our thoughts: What doubts would we have about our life decisions if we survived a plane crash landing….Hmmm?
This book begs the question: “how would you live life if today was your last?” Throw in a romantic love triangle with a long lost flame and we are hooked! It will be interesting to see how the author explores Dawn’s two possible futures and to know what decision Dawn will make: husband, daughter and present life or the “dream life” that she left behind many years before? Can’t wait to find out!
