August 2021 monthly spotlight featured image

As the 2020 Summer Olympics progressed in its celebration of athletes that are the very best at what they do, we couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like to see authors celebrated in a similar manner. That’s why, this month, we want to challenge YOU to show love to authors in any way you can.

Not sure where to start? You can begin by applauding the authors of the intriguing books below which are coming out this month:

Our top pick:

56 Days

Title: 56 Days

Author: Catherine Ryan Howard

Genre: Thriller; Mystery

First impressions: Welcome to 2021 – where lockdown causing someone to murder their partner is actually a relatable concept!

56 days ago Covid-19 reaches Irish shores and Ciara meets Oliver in a supermarket queue. 35 days ago the promise of a lockdown drives Oliver to suggest that Ciara moves in with him. Ciara sees this as a chance for their new relationship to advance but Oliver simply wishes to hide his true nature. Fast forward to the present day and a decomposing body is found inside Oliver’s apartment. Due to the lockdown, this could be the perfect crime but will detectives be able to figure what really happened?

Just JJ’s top pick:
